Medicines Company prez, COO resigns

John P. Kelley has resigned as The Medicines Company’s president and chief operating officer (COO).

Kelley resigned from these positions, and as director of the company to pursue other interests, effective Oct. 1, 2009. According to the Parsippany, N.J.-based company, Kelley will serve as a special advisor to its chief executive officer until  Dec. 31 or until he commences other full-time employment.
