Carestream inks PACS contract
Carestream Health has been awarded the U.S. government’s DIN-PACS III (Digital Imaging Network-PACS) contract, which allows the Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, Indian Health Service and federal civilian agencies to purchase its PACS, subsystems and components.
The contract for up to $45 million in purchases is in effect until April 27, 2013. Two option periods are available and may be exercised in accordance with the terms and conditions of the solicitation and at the contracting officer’s discretion.
Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream said its PACS offers a unified user interface; a global patient worklist; an automatic registration of volumetric exams; centralized storage and viewing of non-DICOM and DICOM data. It also converts proprietary image data into a vendor-neutral format that helps preserve data integrity and streamlines data sharing among authorized users and facilities at any remote location. Its open architecture interfaces with other clinical systems to expedite implementation of EHR/EMR platforms.
