Stent option for left main disease launched in Europe
Tryton Medical has launched its Tryton Side Branch SHORT Stent, a coronary stent system used in the treatment of bifurcations in large vessels with a short main branch landing zone, in CE mark countries.
The Tryton Side Branch SHORT Stent length is 15 mm, or 3mm shorter in the main branch zone than the standard Tryton Side Branch Stent. The stent may be useful in the treatment of left main disease, according to Durham, N.C.-based Tryton Medical.
The stent system is designed for treating bifurcation lesions based on proprietary technology. A cobalt chromium stent is deployed in the side branch artery using a standard single-wire balloon-expandable stent delivery system. A conventional drug-eluting stent is then placed in the main vessel.
The Tryton Side Branch SHORT Stent received CE mark in Europe and remains an investigational device in the U.S.
