New iPhone 7 app helps save lives

Believe it or not, wireless ear buds are not most important feature of the new iPhone 7. To many in the healthcare community, it’s the ability to register as an organ donor right from your phone.

Within the Health App that comes pre-loaded on the iPhone, users have the ability to create a medical ID that can be accessed through the emergency dialer option on the phone. In addition to information about allergies, users can directly register with the National Donate Life Registry and sign up as an organ, eye or tissue donor.
