American Society of Nuclear Cardiology names Brown University professor president
Raymond Russell III, MD, PhD, has been named president of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) for 2017.
ASNC announced the appointment in a news release on Feb. 3.
Russell is an associate professor of medicine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and the director of the nuclear cardiology and cardio oncology programs for the Cardiovascular Institute of Lifespan. Lifespan includes Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital and Newport Hospital. He has been a member of ASNC since 2000 and has been a fellow of the society since 2006.
Russell succeeds Brian Abbott, MD, FASNC, MASNC, who served as ASNC’s President in 2016. ASNC focuses on cardiovascular imaging and has more than 4,000 members throughout the world.
