N.J. hospital names Deignan as CMIO
Cape Regional Medical Center, a 242-bed acute-care medical center in Court House, N.J., has appointed Dianna Deignan, MD, as its first CMIO.
In her new role, Deignan will act as the liaison between the IT department and the medical staff and facilitate the implementation and ongoing support of Cape Regional’s clinical information system (CIS), which will includes nursing and physician documentation, computerized provider order entry, pharmacy systems and medication administration, among other functions, according to the medical center.
Deignan is a board-certified family practice physician and primary care physician with Harbor Family Practice in Stone Harbor, N.J. She is a member of the medical staff at Cape Regional and will continue her private practice in Stone Harbor, N.J.
Deignan earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and completed her graduate medical education at the University of Massachusetts, where she served as chief resident physician. She also served as assistant professor at the UMass Medical School’s Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. In addition, she was a family medicine hospitalist at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
