Spectrum nabs SPECT install with CZT modules
Spectrum Dynamics has shipped and installed the second D-SPECT cardiac imaging system using Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) nuclear imaging modules from a new supplier, Redlen Technologies.
Solid-state CZT-based detectors combined with advanced new reconstruction algorithms provide the foundation for imaging and new clinical applications not possible with conventional sodium iodide-based detectors, according to Spectrum, which is based in Orangeburg, N.Y.
Spectrum and Redlen are completing a long-term supply agreement. The new Redlen M1762 nuclear imaging module provides a 40 x 40 mm CZT imaging array with 256 pixels. The module provides digital readout and averages less than 6 percent energy resolution for Tc-99m based-imaging , added the company.
