LinkedIn data shows cardiologists have highest base salary of any job

With a median annual base salary of $356,000, cardiologists are the highest-paid workers in the U.S., according to LinkedIn. Cardiologists also had a median total compensation of $400,000 per year.

The website collected data from verified LinkedIn members for the report, which was updated Jan. 6 and included various occupations.

For cardiologists, the base salary ranged from $198,000 to $587,000 per year and the total compensation ranged from $208,000 to $640,000.

The top nine highest paid job titles were all healthcare-related. Other job titles in the top 10 were radiologist ($355,000 median base salary), anesthesiologist ($350,000), surgeon ($338,000), medical director ($230,000), pathologist ($225,000), general physician ($220,000), hospitalist ($220,000) and psychiatrist ($218,000).
