Hansen taps Osborne as interim CFO

Medical robotics technology developer Hansen Medical has selected Peter Osborne to serve as its interim chief financial officer (CFO) after Steve Van Dick resigned from the position.

Effective Feb. 24, Osborne will serve as the Mountain View, Calif.-based Hansen’s principal financial and accounting officer.

Prior to accepting the position, Osborne was employed as an independent financial consultant since August 2009 and served as CFO, treasurer and vice president of finance and administration of San Jose, Calif.-based VNUS Medical Technologies from January 2008 to July 2009.

Hansen investors recently filed a class action lawsuit alleging the company and its executives “knew or recklessly disregarded” that their public statements concerning Hansen’s business, operations and prospects were materially false and misleading.
