FDA clears steerable microcatheter for use in peripheral and coronary interventions
The FDA granted 510(k) clearance to the SwiftNINJA steerable microcatheter for use in peripheral and coronary interventions.
Merit Medical, which manufactures the SwiftNINJA, said it would launch the catheter simultaneously with the Corvocet biopsy system on an undisclosed date. The FDA recently cleared the Covocet biopsy system, as well, according to the company.
For the third quarter of 2016, Merit Medical’s sales increased 15.3 percent to $157 million compared with the same time period last year. The company’s cardiovascular revenue during the quarter increased 15 percent to $150.6 million.
