Z-Medica, Romed to distribute QuikClot portfolio in Belgium
Z-Medica and Romed have entered into a distribution agreement that will allow Romed to distribute and sell Z-Medica’s QuikClot hemostatic agents throughout Belgium.
According to Wallingford, Conn.-based Z-Medica, the QuikClot is surgical gauze with kaolin, an inert mineral, that helps to achieve hemostasis quickly during severe bleeds.
Under the agreement, Romed will have distribution rights to the entire QuikClot portfolio including Combat Gauze (used by U.S. Military), QuikClot Emergency Dressing, the QuikClot Interventional Hemostatic Bandage and the QuikClot Pad, which is used during traumatic bleeding events.
The QuikClot portfolio received a CE mark from the European Union in November 2009, Z-Medica said.
