Top 20 children’s hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery

U.S. News & World Report has published its annual Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, providing a detailed breakdown of the top providers in several different categories. For its 2023-2024 list, U.S. News and RTI International collaborated to evaluate data from 119 hospitals and surveyed thousands of physicians and other pediatric specialists.

“Parents of sick children face many difficult challenges, including how to identify the best children’s hospital to treat their illness or condition,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in a statement. “The rankings, which are increasingly determined by objective measures of hospital quality, can help them make informed decisions.”

As always, one of the categories included in the rankings is Pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery. Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston ranked No. 1 yet again, just as it did in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

In addition, the hospital finished No. 1 in the U.S. News pulmonology and nephrology rankings and received a higher overall ranking than any other facility in Texas for the 15th consecutive year.

“Today, more than ever, I am grateful for the dedication and expertise of all our faculty and employees, whose continued pursuit of excellence has made these outstanding rankings possible,” Mark A. Wallace, president and CEO of Texas Children’s Hospital, said in a statement.
