New Orleans cardiologist accused of sexually assaulting patients

Keith Hickey, MD, a 63-year-old cardiologist who lives in New Orleans, has been arrested after being accused of inappropriately touching two patients during routine appointments.

Hickey primarily treats patients in St. Tammany Parish, which is just outside of New Orleans. According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office (STPSO), he was charged with sexual battery, attempted sexual battery, battery and simple assault on Oct. 30. He was then released the next day on $150,000 bond.

Back in May, one of Hickey’s patients came forward and reported that he had made “inappropriate comments” and then “touched her inappropriately” during an appointment. While the case was being investigated by the STPSO Special Victims Unit, a second patient came forward with a similar accusation, saying Hickey had attempted to undress her during an appointment.
