Panasonic unveils tool to detect at-risk cardiac patients
Panasonic has revealed its Cardiohealth Station, a screening device used to detect carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and coronary artery plaque, which is currently awaiting FDA approval.
The device reduces screening time from 30 minutes to almost five and can help detect high-risk asymptomatic patients earlier. Recent studies have shown that certain patients can be reclassified from “low” or “intermediate” to “high risk” by evaluating CIMT and coronary plaque.
In addition, Cardiohealth can produce test results quicker, facilitating better education and treatment options for the patient.
The Cardiohealth Station will be demonstrated at Panasonic’s booth (#1831) during this year’s Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association (AHA), Nov 14-15 in Chicago.
