With three stages and numerous revisions to the policies and implementation dates, the federal Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program can be confusing to navigate. Currently, the program is in Stage 1 and Stage 2 is set to launch in 2014. While 2012 was the last year to receive the maximum incentive payment, qualifying physicians still have the opportunity to enroll in the program for 2013 and to avoid the coming penalties for not participating.
