Cleveland hospital names new director of cardio center
University Hospital in Cleveland has named Mehdi H. Shishehbor, MD, the director of its Cardiovascular Interventional Center, reports Crain’s Cleveland Business.
He will begin seeing patients Aug. 1 and will also co-chair the clinical executive committee at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Shishehbor specializes in minimally invasive approaches to reconstruct arteries. He has trained more than 40 interventional fellows and about 400 physicians nationally.
"His arrival will add depth and breadth to a team of world-renowned experts that have chosen UH as their home," Marco Costa, chief innovation officer at UH and president of the UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, said in a prepared statement. "Together we will continue to grow our academic profile and consolidate our regional market leadership to serve our community with the best-in-class heart and vascular care."
