Donald Trump releases cardiovascular test data and other medical information
Presidential candidate Donald Trump released his medical records Sept. 14, which revealed that he takes rosuvastatin to treat high cholesterol.
Harold N. Bornstein, MD, of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York and Trump’s personal physician since 1980, revealed Trump’s medical information in a letter dated Sept. 13.
Trump had a total cholesterol level of 169 mg/dL, a high-density lipoprotein level of 63 mg/dL, a low-density lipoprotein level of 94 mg/dL and a triglycerides level of 61 mg/dL. His blood pressure was 116/70 mm Hg.
Bornstein also wrote that an EKG and chest x-ray performed on April 14 and a transthoracic echocardiogram performed on Dec. 16, 2014, were within the normal range. He added that Trump has no family history of premature cardiac or neoplastic disease.
“In summary, Mr. Trump is in excellent physical health,” Bornstein wrote.
Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Presidential nominee, released her medical information Sept. 13. Lisa Bardack, MD, Clinton’s personal physician, wrote in a letter that Clinton was “in excellent medical condition” despite being diagnosed with pneumonia a few days earlier.
