Theranos CEO reveals new device, refuses to discuss company’s issues
Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes announced the company had developed a blood-testing device that is not yet FDA-approved that she said can run tests from a finger prick, the Wall Street Journal reports. Holmes, who spoke August 1 at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, did not discuss her company’s recent issues with the federal government.
In July, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services prohibited Holmes from owning or operating a laboratory for two years and revoked the license for a Theranos in Newark, California.
