Michael Honigberg, MD, MPP

Preventive cardiologist and researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital and assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School 

Dr. Honigberg’s research focuses on advancing the mechanistic understanding and clinical actionability of sex-specific cardiovascular disease risk factors in women, as well as emerging cardiovascular risk factors that can aid in prevention. His work includes investigating the causes and cardiometabolic consequences of adverse pregnancy outcomes and exploring how genetic and reproductive aging influences cardiovascular disease risk in women. 

With more than 110 peer-reviewed journal articles to his name, Michael has made significant contributions to the field of cardiovascular inquiry. His dedication to improving women’s cardiovascular health is evident in the valuable insights he has uncovered for clinical practice. 

Dr. Honigberg’s achievements have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Jeremiah Stamler Award from the Northwestern Cardiovascular Young Investigators’ Forum (2020) and the ACC Douglas P. Zipes Distinguished Young Scientist Award (2023). These accolades highlight his impact and leadership in cardiovascular research.
