Cardiovascular Business announces its Forty Under 40 Class of 2026

The Cardiovascular Business Forty Under 40 Class of 2026 represents one of the most accomplished and diverse cohorts in the program's history—a group of clinicians, researchers, entrepreneurs and administrators who are collectively redefining what cardiovascular leadership looks like under the age of 40.

Among the standout themes this year is the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) as a clinical force. One honoree has deployed the nation's largest cardiovascular AI screening program, analyzing more than 1.1 million electrocardiograms (ECGs) and 140,000 echocardiograms in real time across a major health system, while simultaneously authoring the most-read cardiac AI paper ever published in Nature. Another is leading a 50-person FDA-engaged think tank to establish atrial fibrillation burden as a validated clinical trial endpoint, work that could accelerate the development of every AFib therapy that follows.

The cohort also reflects a generation of physician-builders committed to closing access gaps. One structural heart specialist has performed more than 100 transcatheter valve replacements exceeding national benchmarks in a historically underserved agricultural community, while a nonprofit CEO successfully shepherded the nation's first law mandating ECG screening for student-athletes through the Florida legislature. A Colombian-born physician-scientist at Harvard has secured more than $600,000 in competitive research funding to study cardiovascular risk in women, a population historically underrepresented in clinical trials.
