Michael Andoniades

Founder and CEO of TrueScan in St. Petersburg, Florida
Michael was only 23 when he founded the first proactive whole-body MRI operation in the Tampa Bay area. In doing so, he set out to solve a problem most of his peers had never thought about: Millions of Americans may be walking around with serious cardiovascular disease they will not know about until serious symptoms show up.
Andoniades is still under 25 years old. And today that company, TrueScan, offers comprehensive imaging to screen for more than 500 conditions across major organs, soft tissue and vascular structures. But Michael wasn’t satisfied with that. Recognizing that whole-body MRI, for all its power, does not image the coronary arteries, he made the decision to add AI-powered coronary CT angiography to TrueScan’s platform. This move made TrueScan the first whole-body MRI provider in the U.S. to offer this combined early detection approach, a milestone covered by Cardiovascular Business and noted by clinical leaders in the field.
Within weeks of launching the CCTA program, TrueScan proved instrumental in identifying clinically significant disease in multiple patients who were completely asymptomatic. Those patients are now receiving the interventional care that may save their lives.
What Andoniades has built is not just a scanning center. Every coronary result is reviewed by a cardiologist, and every patient meets personally with a cardiothoracic surgeon. In a healthcare landscape where preventive heart care is often perfunctory, TrueScan stands out for treating early detection with the gravity it deserves.
At 24, Michael Andoniades is already proving that the most important cardiovascular innovations sometimes come from outside the clinic.
