Olivia Strother, MPH

Assistant Vice President for Pulmonary, Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Service Lines at HCA Healthcare in Nashville
Olivia is proof that some of the most consequential work in cardiovascular medicine happens far from the procedure room. Every day, she helps shape how cardiovascular care is delivered across more than 190 hospitals in the largest non-governmental healthcare system in the United States. Given that she is only 33, the scale of her portfolio is extraordinary.
Strother’s path to HCA was built at UCSF Health, where she spent seven years helping to lead, guide and direct heart and vascular services. She gained the kind of expertise that can only come from deep immersion in one of the country’s top academic medical centers as she managed daily operations, oversaw a multimillion-dollar capital construction project and drove ongoing strategic development in a complex clinical environment. When she joined HCA in 2023, she brought that expertise to a system operating at an entirely different order of magnitude, and earned a quick promotion that reflected how well she made the transition.
Olivia’s impact extends beyond her corporate role. A six-year American Heart Association Heart Walk coach, a board member of The Store (a Nashville nonprofit fighting food insecurity) and a member of the Junior League of Nashville, she has built a community presence that reflects the same values she brings to her professional work—connection, commitment and a heartfelt desire to improve health outcomes at the population level.
In summary, Olivia Strother has consistently demonstrated an extraordinary ability to make large healthcare systems move with purpose for the communities they serve.
