Ahmad Younes, MD, MBA, FACC, FSCAI, RPVI

Director of endovascular services/system director, pulmonary embolism response team/limb salvage division leader at Jobst Vascular Institute of Promedica Health in Toledo, Ohio; clinical assistant professor at the University of Toledo

Ahmad does not fit neatly into a single role because he has deliberately built several of them—and made each one count. The PERT program he built unifies interventional cardiology, pulmonary and critical care, vascular surgery, and interventional radiology under shared treatment protocols. It was activated 409 times in 2025 alone, serving patients across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. His Limb Preservation Board introduced a structured, multidisciplinary review process for patients facing major amputation, achieving limb salvage in approximately 55% of cases initially considered non-salvageable. This work has been accepted for presentation at the SCAI 2026 Scientific Sessions.

Beyond his institutional footprint, Dr. Younes has built a sustainable, capacity-building program in Kenya, where local physicians now independently perform percutaneous mitral balloon valvuloplasty for rheumatic heart disease after years of training with his team. The program has moved from mission visits to local autonomy, attaining the highest measure of success in global health work.

Dr. Ahmad Younes combines clinical mastery with MBA-level organizational intelligence. This dual expertise is reflected in every program he has built. He is the epitome of the gifted physician who generously shares from his expansive potential at the bedside, in the boardroom and across international borders.
