Noninvasive coronary CT angiography is growing more and more important as time goes on, helping cardiologists make critical treatment decisions. Carlos Collet, MD, PhD, discussed the technique's potential to be a real game-changer for patient care in a new interview. 

This decision expands access to renal denervation to many more patients throughout the United States. Recor Medical and Medtronic both gained FDA approval for their RDN systems in 2023, and other vendors are actively developing their own treatment options.

Researchers tracked patients for two years, using echocardiography to confirm the devices had completely vanished. Additional studies will still be required.

B. Hadley Wilson, MD, talked to Cardiovascular Business about several standout late-breaking clinical trials presented at TCT 2025. Topics of those trials included drug-coated balloons, TAVR valve durability, pulmonary embolism treatments and much more.

SCAI President Srihari Naidu, MD, detailed some of the challenges interventional cardiologists face as reimbursements keep declining. The group has been building new partnerships with other medical societies to strengthen its influence in Washington. 

The new findings, presented during a late-breaking presentation, focused on 110 PAD patients treated with Shockwave Medical's Javelin Peripheral IVL Catheter.

In some cases, researchers noted, cardiologists may need to rely on transcaval access during the treatment of a high-risk heart failure patient. 

SCAI feels this is the best way forward to try lowering mortality rates, but the group is asking cardiologists to help by gathering more data. 

Researchers tracked data from more than 1,000 real-world patients, focusing on 30-day safety and efficacy outcomes. The group shared its findings at TCT 2025 in San Francisco.

As one may expect, patient satisfaction was considerably higher for individuals who did not have to fast for a minimum of six hours prior to treatment. There were no other significant differences.
