Blood clots are unusually common—and quite fatal—among patients hospitalized with COVID-19.

CMS has been considering such changes for years, hoping to reduce paperwork and encourage collaboration. 

The clearance includes multiple algorithms capable of identifying key findings in a 30-second ECG.

A moment of silence has been planned to celebrate the late cardiologist's memory. 

The study, published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, included data from nearly 374,000 adult patients. 

The two groups emphasized the importance of shared decision-making and detailed when patients can consider competitive sports. 

“These observations support rigorous adherence to COVID-19 prevention strategies in obese individuals of all ages,” the researchers wrote. 

An international group of scientists and clinicians is calling on health systems to fight COVID-19 and future public health crises by integrating AI and robotics within a care-delivery framework emphasizing telemedicine.

The 10 teams will share $30,000 in prize money and were recognized during the society's annual meeting.
