Sudden cardiac arrest, both in and outside of the hospital, is much more fatal for patients who already have COVID-19. 

Healthcare workers should pay close attention to any symptoms they experience after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, according to a new analysis.

“To our knowledge, this is the first report of prosthetic aortic valve thrombosis associated with COVID-19 infection,” the authors wrote.

Even with numerous vaccines now being distributed, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause havoc for health systems all over the world.

The meta-analysis included data from 23 different studies. 

“Vital sign measurements and labs can come too late, but early detection through predictive analytics has the power to improve patients’ outcomes, especially for catastrophic illnesses like COVID-19,” the software's creator said. 

The new study, published in JAMA, focused on patient mortality after 30 days. 

“Some people have expressed concerns about taking the vaccine,” the AHA wrote. “However, after review by science and medical experts, the association is confident the benefits of vaccination far exceed the very small, rare risks."

Researchers compared patient outcomes from 2019 with data from the pandemic’s first four months, sharing their findings in the American Journal of Cardiology.
