Two cardiologists contributed to the analysis, detailing why certain foods and drinks should be avoided.

Researchers presented 30-day data at the SCAI 2021 Scientific Sessions, highlighting the "excellent" outcomes and the importance of constantly working to improve patient care. 

The team's findings were presented at the 101st Annual Meeting of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery and published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

The study’s authors tracked data from 2007 to 2016, focusing on seven low-value services that all received a “D” recommendation from the USPSTF. 

The team behind the new guidance also emphasized how important it still is for all adults to get vaccinated. 

“Our findings are of great importance to the debate concerning blood pressure treatment," one researcher said. The team's analysis included data from nearly 345,000 patients.

Overall, one-year findings showed that there were no instances of mortality, endocarditis, major stent fractures or surgical intervention among patients who received the Harmony TPV.

The platform was designed to assist clinicians during percutaneous coronary intervention and other interventional procedures.
