This continues a consistent rise in pay for the specialty—the same report recorded cardiology’s average salary as $459,000 in 2021, $438,000 in 2020 and $430,000 in 2019.

The new recommendations went live just ahead of ACC.22. They can be read in full in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation or Journal of Cardiac Failure.

While the system used during the procedure has not yet gained full FDA approval, this patient was treated under a compassionate-use clearance from the agency.

The first-in-man study, completed by a team of cardiologists in China, included 10 patients presenting with HFpEF. 

The new recall includes five lots of medications distributed from December 2019 to April 2022. Similar products were also recalled back in March for the same reason.

Researchers explored data from five different randomized controlled trials, publishing their analysis in the American Journal of Cardiology.

The recall is focused on a single batch distributed from December 2021 to March 2022.

The issue, identified during a routine inspection, appears to be related to a change in the manufacturing process. It has now been corrected, Medtronic said in a statement.
