Philips offers end-to-end cardiac care monitoring
Philips is using its remote ECG monitoring technology to help providers transform how healthcare is delivered to improve patient care. So that means delivering timely, actionable patient data insights to accelerate clinical decisions and streamline workflows inside and outside the hospital in one location to better monitor patients.
"Having this all integrated into one area and creating a platform where you can actually view the reports and the data that comes from these remote monitors, this data repository becomes very critical,” explains DJ Lakkireddy, MD. “Having this type of data repository I think is a very important piece of the puzzle, especially with the advancement of electronic medical records and when you add auto-flagging and on top of that add artificial intelligence."
Philips offers several remote monitoring devices, including its Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCOT) system. It offers AI to help monitor rhythm, QRS morphology, rate and P wave analysis, which is used to flag events so clinicians can be notified quickly. Physicians can set the protocols for alert thresholds. This includes protocols for breakthrough AFib. Philips says 74% of all arrhythmias are detected in the first 14 days of monitoring.
