Cardiologist arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting multiple colleagues
A Texas cardiologist has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting multiple hospital employees he met while working at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, Maryland. Aman Patel, 43, now faces several charges, including first- and second-degree rape, two counts of false imprisonment and three counts of harassment.
News station WMDT out of Salisbury, Maryland, was the first outlet to cover the allegations. According to its research, investigators with Easton Police have been on Patel’s case since June 2024, when a hospital employee came forward and shared her experience. Patel, working as a traveling cardiologist, allegedly kissed the victim repeatedly without her consent in addition to touching her inappropriately.
Multiple other victims came forward with similar allegations. One victim said she was forced to perform a sexual act on the cardiologist.
Patel has already had his license to practice medicine suspended in multiple states, including Maryland, as a result of these allegations.
According to public case records available on the Talbot County Department of Corrections website, a hearing was held March 11 and Patel is being held without bond. A trial date is now being determined based on the availability of the officers involved in the case.
Easton Police have said they believe there could be other victims who have not yet come forward. Click here for additional details from WMDT.
