In this integrated imaging spotlight, cardiologists can brush up on how to use various modalities to assess myocardial viability.
The shortage of technetium-99m agents has posed significant challenges for nuclear cardiologists. Practices have had to be creative with patient appointments or utilize other imaging modalities. In this integrated imaging spotlight, cardiologists can brush up on how to use various modalities to assess myocardial viability.
Case presentations on the use of echo, PET and MRI to determine myocardial viability in various patient populations can help cardiologists understand how and when they can use these modalities rather than SPECT.
But it may not always be easy to switch modalities so participants in this session also can review the use of SPECT in myocardial viability, particularly in late presentation of MI. While the use of CT to look at myocardial viability is not routine, you will learn the current evidence for its use.
