U of Miami fellow receives resuscitation research award
Hung Wen Lin, PhD, a research fellow at the Cerebral Vascular Disease Research Center in the department of neurology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has been selected as the recipient of the fourth annual American Heart Association (AHA)-Philips Healthcare Resuscitation Fellowship Award.
The $100,000 grant, which Philips funds over a two-year period, is intended to encourage young investigators in the early stages of their careers to pursue basic and clinical research related to resuscitation.
The award will enable Lin to continue his research on the effects of cardiac arrest on brain circulation. He hopes his research will contribute to identifying a standard therapy to preserve brain function following cardiac arrest.
Lin received the award at the Resuscitation Science Symposium meeting, which was held in conjunction with the AHA10 in Chicago in November.
