FDA approves St. Jude Medical’s CRT software
The FDA approved St. Jude Medical’s SyncAV cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) software July 11 for independent use or with the company’s MultiPoint pacing technology.
The software, which is intended for patients with heart failure, adjusts pacing based on the patient's cardiac condition. Physicians can use the technology in patients who have responded positively to CRT.
In February, the FDA approved the MultiPoint pacing technology, which is included in the company’s Quadra Assura MP CRT defibrillator, Quadra Allure MP CRT pacemaker and quadripolar Quartet LV leads.
