Texas nurse charged with murder, accused of causing embolisms in 7 patients

A 34-year-old nurse at a Texas hospital has been charged with murder after being arrested on April 10 and held on $2 million bond.

William George Davis worked at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas, where he is alleged to have intentionally caused stroke-like injuries in seven patients, leading to two deaths. The arrest warrant claims Davis worked the night shift when each patient suffered a medical emergency. He allegedly caused embolisms.

“I must conclude that these patients were intentionally injected with air through their radial artery lines by nurse William Davis. I can find no other logical explanation," said Kenneth Layton, MD, head of Baylor University Medical Center's radiology department, in a prepared statement.
