Cardiac CT before TAVR detects CAD with high accuracy, suggesting a reduced need for invasive imaging

CTA images before TAVR to screen for coronary artery disease

Four-dimensional coronary reconstruction of the left anterior descending artery demonstrating nonsignificant coronary artery disease (0% to 49% proximal stenosis) (A), moderate coronary artery disease (50% to 69% proximal stenosis, Coronary Artery Disease–Reporting and Data System [CAD-RADS] category 3) (B), and severe coronary artery disease (≥70% proximal stenosis, CAD-RADS category 4) (C) on longitudinal and cross-sectional views of the vessel.

New research from a team of specialists at Cleveland Clinic included data from more than 2,000 TAVR patients.

Intravascular imaging-guided PCI improves patient outcomes, new meta-analysis confirms

The ILUMIEN IV and OCTOBER trials helped illustrate that the benefits of intravascular ultrasound also are seen with optical coherence tomography. Both trials were included in the new meta-analysis presented at ESC Congress 2023.
