TeraRecon names Zhao as engineering VP

Advanced visualization technology developer TeraRecon has appointed TieCheng Zhao, PhD, as its vice president of engineering.

Zhao joined TeraRecon in 2001, when the company acquired its real-time visualization business unit of Mitsubishi Electric, where he was co-creator and architect of VolumeProNET, a network-based volume rendering server, and the predecessor to TeraRecon’s AquariusNET Server.

Previously, Zhao worked as a CT physicist with GE Healthcare, where he was involved with that company’s four-slice CT scanner, as well as a research scientist at NASA, TeraRecon said.
