ACC plans to launch two atrial fibrillation registries
The American College of Cardiology (ACC) announced it plans on launching two clinical registry programs to track outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation. The registries will be part of the National Cardiovascular Data Registry, which currently includes eight cardiovascular data registries.
The ACC’s LAAO registry will include data on left atrial appendage occlusion procedures, while its AFib Ablation registry will assess information on patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation procedures.
The ACC said in a news release that it would use data from the AFib Ablation registry to develop evidence-based guidelines and quality metrics for atrial fibrillation treatments.
