eCardio announces the appointment of John H. Untereker as its president
HOUSTON, TX, August 1, 2013 — eCardio Diagnostics, a leader in remote arrhythmia monitoring services, has promoted John H. Untereker to President, effective immediately. He will remain COO.
Untereker will replace Larry Lawson, the company’s founder, as President. Lawson is a healthcare industry veteran who launched the company almost a decade ago to provide physicians with accurate cardiac monitoring services through innovative and flexible web-based solutions. Untereker becomes only the second to hold the title since the company’s inception. Lawson will remain Chairman and CEO.
Lawson said, “I am excited to see John in this role. His leadership played a pivotal part in the company’s delivery of strong financial results and operational improvements over the last few years and he has been instrumental in the development of the company’s long-term growth strategies.”
Additionally, Lawson said, “John has navigated us through the opportunities and challenges present during the launches of two mobile cardiac telemetry products in just two years and I have no doubt that he will guide the company through many more successes.”
Lawson said eCardio would continue to experience growth under the day-to-day direction of Untereker because “he is exceptional in building strong, collaborative teams focused on meeting the evolving needs of customers within a changing healthcare landscape.”
Untereker said, “I am proud and humbled to have this wonderful opportunity to work with a fantastic team in building further growth and success for eCardio.”
Untereker joined eCardio’s Board of Managers in 2009 and became a part of the company’s leadership team as Vice President and CFO in 2010. He was promoted to Executive Vice President, CFO and COO in 2011.
Prior to joining eCardio, Untereker served as Senior Vice President and CFO at American Electric Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AETI) and has held senior management positions at Omnicare, Omni Energy Services, PHI, Lend Lease Trucks and NL Industries, Inc. He began his career at PwC’s New York office.
