IBHRE announces award winners
The International Board of Rhythm Heart Examiners (IBRHE) announced on March 22 that three people had received awards for volunteering their time and making significant contributions to the organization.
The winners of the IBHRE Ambassadors of the Year award are Laurie Newmark, RN, CCDS, of Northern Nevada Cardiology in Reno and Jay Charles Reid, MS, BSN, RN, CCDS, the director of procedure training at Medtronic in Jacksonville, Fla.
Harlie Ferguson, AS, CEPS, the principal educator for academic development at St. Jude Medical in St. Paul, Minn., received the IBHRE Vanguard award.
Newmark and Reid are IBHRE senior ambassadors, while Ferguson is the chair of the IBHRE ambassador committee. IBHRE ambassadors are physicians and allied professionals who promote the IBHRE certification and encourage heart rhythm practitioners to receive certification.
IBHRE staff chose the winners of the awards, which were presented for the first time this year. The awards ceremony will take place on May 4 during the Heart Rhythm Society’s annual scientific sessions in San Francisco.
