FDA OKs stent system for peripheral disease
The FDA approved the Ever-Flex Self-Expanding Peripheral Stent System for use in the common and external iliac arteries.
The stent system is used as a treatment for atherosclerotic disease on these arteries up to 100 mm with a reference vessel diameter of 4.5 mm to 7.5 mm. It consists of a nitinol stent and a catheter-based delivery system.
The device is manufactured by ev3/Covidien.
