Intelerad Medical Systems acquires Lumedx
Intelerad Medical Systems announced Thursday, Feb. 18, that it has acquired Lumedx, an Oakland, California-based healthcare technology company focused on analytics and cardiovascular information systems.
Financial details of the deal have not been released.
Lumedx has been in business for more than 25 years and is currently being used at more than 150 hospitals and health systems. The company’s solutions are designed to help users provide high-quality cardiovascular care by improving the continuity of care. Lumedx also delivers data analytics for a number of other specialties, including orthopedics and neurology.
“Over the last two and a half decades, Lumedx has been laser-focused on our vision of delivering an end-to-end suite of software and services that improves continuity of care,” Allyn McAuley, PhD, CEO and co-founder of Lumedx, said in a prepared statement. “Joining forces with Intelerad enables us to further achieve this goal, as well as provide customers increased automation that results in greater clinical efficiency and improved patient care.”
“Healthcare as we know it has forever changed, and more than ever, providers need automated solutions that allow them to focus on what they do best—treating patients and providing improved patient care,” added Mike Lipps, CEO of Intelerad. “Bringing Lumedx into the Intelerad portfolio further enables our team to provide customers with the most comprehensive enterprise imaging platform in the industry.”
The move represents Intelerad’s third acquisition in the last seven months. The company acquired Radius in August 2020 and Digisonics in December 2020.
