U.S. News & World Report has shared its 2022 rankings of the world’s top universities, providing a detailed list for 43 different subjects. The site tracked data from more than 2,000 schools to craft its lists.
According to the list, Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is the No. 1 university for cardiac and cardiovascular systems in the entire world. Harvard was also chosen as the world’s No. 1 university overall.
Looking closer at the cardiac and cardiovascular systems rankings, the United States made numerous appearances near the top of the list; seven U.S. schools made the top 10 and 13 U.S. schools made the top 20.

“These rankings stand out from our other education rankings due to their emphasis on academic research,” Robert Morse, chief data strategist at U.S. News, said in a prepared statement. “The Best Global Universities feature an overall ranking of more than 1,700 universities, as well as subject rankings of additional 255 universities, for a total of 2,005 schools, providing even more information for prospective students interested in schools where research is a top priority.”
