Louisiana Heart Hospital to close by the end of February

Louisiana Heart Hospital will close by the end of the month, The Times-Picayune reports.

The 134-bed hospital also filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. More than 100 people will lose their jobs as part of the closure.

The hospital said in its bankruptcy filing that it had estimated assets of $10 million to $50 million, estimated liabilities of $100 million to $500 million and an estimated 1,000 to 5,000 creditors.

The St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office also said the hospital had not paid its 2016 taxes.
