Medtronic, Boston Scientific, other device makers support Minnesota congressman
Medical device makers are supporting Minnesota Congressman Erik Paulsen in his bid for re-election, STAT reports.
Medtronic, Boston Scientific and other device makers have offices in Paulsen’s district and have given money to the Republican leading up to his November race with Democratic state Senator Terri Bonoff. Although Paulsen is considered the favorite, Stat reported that the race is close and Democrats have targeted him for his pro-business leanings.
Paulsen helped secure a two-year delay of the Affordable Care Act’s tax on medical devices, according to Stat, adding that Paulsen and Bonoff would each like to see the ACA’s medical device tax repealed.
