Boston Scientific elects former Lixil CEO to its board of directors
Yoshiaki Fujimori, a former Lixil Group Corporation CEO and General Electric executive, was elected to Boston Scientific’s board of directors on July 12.
Lixil announced in December 2015 that Fujimori would step down as CEO of the Tokyo-based company on Jan. 1, 2016. Lixil is a housing-related holding company that manufactures and sells building materials and housing equipment, operates home centers and offers real estate services.
Fujimori said his resignation from Lixil was “totally unrelated” to an accounting scandal at a Lixil subsidiary operating in China, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Fujimori joined Lixil after spending 25 years with General Electric, where he served as chairman, president and CEO of GE Japan for more than three years.
Fujimori is also an external director of Tokyo Electric Power Company and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited.
