The algorithm can help physicians make key decisions about a patient’s health, including whether or not it is time to consider statin therapy. 

The authors found a link between six months of empagliflozin and a reduction in extracellular volume, sharing their findings in JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging.

One key detail of the team's analysis was that anatomic imaging strategies are associated with an especially high sensitivity for detecting coronary artery disease. 

The mandate goes into effect on April 1. 

“The differences in the findings are extremely important,” one researcher said. 

Specialists at a high-volume facility in Germany were able to successfully limit radiation dose—and patient outcomes did not suffer.
