New report explores cardiologist’s history of rape, sexual assault accusations—dating app banned him, so he created another account
A Colorado cardiologist charged with three counts of sexual assault in March was also accused of rape back in September 2020, according to a new investigative report.
The report, published by CBS News Colorado, details how Stephen Matthews, 35, was banned from the dating app Hinge following multiple rape accusations. However, he appears to have created a new account with different login credentials and used that account to meet many more women.
In March, Matthews was charged with three counts of sexual assault after a women he met online blacked out for several hours while at his house. The Denver Police Department, investigating the matter, reported that they believe there could be other victims as well.
Matthews posted a $50,000 bond after being charged. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May.
Matthews and his attorney have consistently said he did nothing illegal.
