Texas medical center adds new physician to its cardiology team
Since serving as a courtesy medical staff member since September, cardiologist Ahad Hassan, MD, will be officially joining Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood, Texas, for good as part of the provider’s CardioSolution team.
The CardioSolution team offers routine heart care as well as emergency cardiology catheterization services, according to a statement from Brownwood. Soon, the practice will also have a fully-equipped catheterization lab.
“Offering additional heart and vascular services to Brownwood and the surrounding area will allow our community a prompt and timely response if cardiac services are needed,” said Brownwood CEO Chip Camp. “BRMC takes pride in expanding services and meeting the health needs with quality health care,”
Prior to working at Brownwood, Hassan worked in Georgia and Tennessee, specializing in peripheral vascular intervention and angioplasties to treat chronic total occlusion, bifurcation lesions, vein graft disease and restenosis.
He received his MD from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan and completed his residency at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Follow his residency, he completed a cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology fellowships at Maimonides Medical Center, also in Brooklyn.
“We are pleased with the addition of Dr. Ahad Hassan to the BRMC medical staff,” Camp said. “The addition allows a team of cardiologists to provide convenient access to cardiology services in conjunction with the BRMC Heart Center and the cardiac catheterization lab.”
