Cardiologist Carlos Collet takes new leadership role with CRF

The Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) has officially brought in Carlos Collet, MD, PhD, a world-renowned interventional cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist, as the organization’s new director of cardiovascular imaging, physiology and translational therapeutics. 

Collet spent many years as the co-director of the cath lab at OLV Hospitals in Aalst, Belgium. He has also traveled the world advocating for the use of CT-guided interventional procedures and co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles on a wide variety of topics.

In this new role, Collet will be involved in all CRF initiatives going forward. He will provide guidance as the organization continues to prioritize both scientific excellence and innovation. 

“I’m honored to join CRF and contribute to its mission of advancing cardiovascular care through innovation, research and education,” Collet said in a statement. “This is a unique opportunity to build on the foundation of excellence already established within the core labs, while expanding our coronary and endovascular imaging capabilities. TCT 2025 on the horizon

TCT 2025, CRF’s annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics conference, is scheduled for Oct. 25-28, 2025, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
