Experts in interventional cardiology, medical billing unite to discuss Shockwave Medical’s IVL technology
Intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) has quickly emerged as one of healthcare’s most in-demand technologies, allowing cardiologists to safely break up heavily calcified plaques and prepare patients for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Now Shockwave Medical, a part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech, is co-hosting a new webinar designed to teach coding and billing specialists how to code appropriately for peripheral and coronary IVL procedures.
The webinar, 2025 Shockwave IVL Reimbursement Overview, is scheduled for Jan. 29 at 2:30 p.m. ET. It will cover key details about how IVL technology works and provide updated information on how care teams should bill for IVL to ensure they receive the highest reimbursements possible. Attendees will then be able to participate in a live Q&A session.
Three IVL specialists are participating in the upcoming event:
- Sarang Mangalmurti, MD, an interventional cardiologist with Bryn Mawr Medical Specialists and Main Line Health.
- Eric Hoesing, RN, BSN, MBA, a field reimbursement manager with Shockwave Medical.
- Sue Michalic, RN, MS, a field reimbursement manager with Shockwave Medical.
In addition to coding and billing specialists, this webinar is targeted toward interventional cardiologists, cardiology and interventional cardiology chiefs, cardiovascular service line directors, hospital and health system executives and anyone else hoping to learn more about this plaque-busting technology.
